A Peachy Post

Our read aloud this week has been James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.
It must be the fourth or fifth time that I have read this one aloud and it is always so enjoyable. Roald Dahl is a master. I remember loving The Twits when I was younger and of course, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

And soon our peaches will be ripening, unless those pesky parrots get to them first. There are normally enough for both of us to enjoy!

So I thought I'd share a peachy recipe today!

Cinnamon Peach Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup Plain Greek Yoghurt or coconut yoghurt
3/4 cup Frozen Peaches
1-2 drops of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil
1/2 tsp maple syrup (if you feel it needs a bit of sweetness)
A few drops of vanilla (optional)

Instructions
1.Combine all of the above ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
2.Enjoy!

Do you or your kids have a favourite Roald Dahl book?

  1. My grand children love to sit and have a story, we have yet to start on Roald Dahl books, but I have plenty ready.

  2. Those cinnamon peach smoothies look delicious. Love all Roald Dahl books. I used to always love reading his Revolting hymes....love the Hansel and Gretel one....and Matilda was always a favourite with my girls when they were little.

    1. I forgot Matilda as I think that is the only one we don't own. My boys love all the revolting ones!

  3. We are big fans of Roald Dahl books and my eldest son loves the two you just mentioned but this dad gets to read them out loud with him and I am busy with the toddler. I can't wait to read them over the Christmas holidays. That smoothie sounds divine.

    1. I love the holidays for fitting in some great read aloud time! Went to the library this morning and there was Matilda, right in the front of the display! Scooped that up to read next.
