At Home With Mrs M for Meal Planning Monday
and Darling Downs Diaries for Good Morning Mondays.
After a week away, it is good to be getting back into familar routines. Boring, I know, but I really am a homebody at heart and I like my routines. I feel a bit lost when I am away from my home for any length of time.
This week is shaping up to be freezing cold, with daytime temperatures of about 8 degrees C (which would be 46 degrees F). Not the best weather to start a new term at school!
Last night, in parts of New South Wales, there was thunder snow. I had to Google that as I have never heard of it before. Apparently it is a rare weather phenomenon where snow falls during a thunderstorm.
So time for some warming recipes!
I am choosing recipes this week from Trim Healthy Mama.
I have had this book for a while and have read through it once. It all makes such sense and all the testimonials are so positive that I really must give it a try. I just have to commit myself to it. It seems that the recipes will work for the whole family, so that will make it easier. But for now, I have just chosen some meals that appeal to me without worrying about the category.
Monday
Tender Beef Stew (pg 309), served with rice
Fruit salad
Tuesday
Lentil soup (pg 311) served with toast
Choc Ripple Cake - my daughter made this for a birthday last week and I had forgotten how easy it is to make, and how yummy!
Wednesday
Quiche (pg 319), green salad
Cheesecake Berry Crunch (pg 373)
Thursday
Whole Baked Chicken (pg 321), Parmesan Zucchini (pg 355), honey carrots, mashed potatoes
Lemon delicious pudding
Friday
Fajitas (pg 346)
Mexican Flan
Saturday
Eggplant Lasagna (pg 349)
Apple crumble
Sunday
Peanut Crusted Chicken (pg 325), potato wedges, steamed greens

Thanks! Choc ripple cake is super easy and looks super impressive. I make it sometimes for Christmas and make it look like a Yule log.
DeleteI'd love some snow over here! Winter is my favorite season :) Looks like a delicious week planned.

DeleteYou are doing it again Jayne😉your menu sounds your, menu sounds great. I wanted to get that book but haven't as yet, will wait until I can get it on my kindle. Thank you for sharing at Good Morning Mondays. Blessings
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri. It is a great book, although I don't like the use of fake sweeteners instead of sugar. I think it is probably better to have real sugar but in moderation.
