A New Toy To Play With

On one of my rabbit hole trips through the internet (I was lost for hours, I can tell you!), I came across this absolutely gorgeous blog, Porch Swing Quilts. Oh my, if you want to see some stunning quilts, bunny hop on over there right now and you will be lost for hours as well!
On the blog, there is a link party called Colour Mondays. There is a theme for the day and you link up a colour palette that reminds you of the theme.

And this is where the fun new toy comes in. I have never seen this before, so I am in love!
It is called Palette Builder. You load an image and it will come up with the solid fabric colours to make the palette. You can shift these around if you want to change it a bit.

The theme for this week was Warm Weather Dreaming. Now as I am in Australia, I don't need to do any dreaming about warm weather - it was 39C on the weekend (102F). So this the image I used to make my palette.

And this is the finished palette.

You use Bella Solids, Kona Solids, or let it choose the best match.

Then I couldn't resist playing around a bit (cause who could!)

I'm thinking this will also come in handy when choosing colour schemes for yarn dyeing.

  1. I love your rabbit hole as I just found a palette tool the other day too! Knitting furiously to finish a shawl, so I am trying to knit more than anything.

    1. Oh, you will have to let me know which one you found! I know, it is Friday tomorrow and I don't know if I will have any FOs to show!

    1. I just love Audrey - doing a post on her later this week as I am reading a great Audrey book. I also love the retro kitchen one. Can you tell I love pink?! But the three sons are not quite so keen, drat!
