Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining - Doesn't it?!

I tend to have a glass half empty temperament, so early this evening, when the laundry flooded, I was so tempted to pull my hair out and get cranky in frustration.

Why is that as soon as you think you have two minutes to look through Ravelry, the washing machine decides to pop a hose and dump the whole washing load of water on the floor?!

But I thought to myself, do not get cross - things happen. The way I react to situations like this is the way my children will learn to react. For this reason, I am really trying to work on my positivity and cultivate a meek and gentle spirit.
So I calmly started to sweep the water out the door. I cannot believe how much water comes out of a load of washing!

I am trying to put love into every action and every word, even on those bad days when nothing goes right and I am so tempted to be cranky. I think of 1 Corinthians 10:13 and know that God is right there with me, even in the little everyday problems.

And the silver lining? I have been looking at the laundry floor for a few days, thinking it needing a clean. Job done!
And I have now discovered what a blessing it is that we have an outside laundry.

  1. I admire your spirit there. That is exactly the type of incident that pushes most of us into full-on crankiness. You did great!

    1. It's a work in progress though! My first instinct was to rant and rave, I can tell you!
