Make A List Colour Monday

Linking today with Porch Swing Quilts for Make A List Colour Monday.

Last week's achievements (or lack thereof!)

  • Graph Minecraft quilt for Whirlwind's birthday, using this one as a guide.
  • Veggie garden - continue weeding and mulching, plant out areas as completed. - slowly working my way through these weeds.

  • Three hours of hand quilting on Miss Ballerina's quilt. - this is neverending!
  • Finish back of Shoulder Rolls jumper from November 1933 Stitchcraft. - yep, too ambitious, although I have made progress!
  • Inventory pantry items and determine use by dates. Meal plan accordingly, then keep pantry inventory up to date.
  • Write letters to my sponsor children.
  • Set up new cash book system to start from June 1.
  • Clean up at least two of my 'clutter corners'.

I thought I would start to divide my list into categories as The Prudent Homemaker does.

So this week's list is:

Garden and homestead
  • Veggie garden - continue weeding and mulching, plant out areas as completed.
  • Clean out deep litter from chicken pen to the compost and lay new straw.
  • Weed daffodil bed.
  • Plant new plants.
  • Sprout wheat grain for chickens.
Knitting, sewing, crafting
  • Three hours of hand quilting on Miss Ballerina's quilt.
  • Graph Minecraft quilt for Whirlwind's birthday, using this one as a guide.
Household
  • Inventory pantry items and determine use by dates. Meal plan accordingly, then keep pantry inventory up to date.
  • Write letters to my sponsor children.
  • Clean up clutter corner in our bedroom.
  • Make lemon butter as our lemon tree is bursting with lemons.

This week's colour theme is Memorial Day. This is a US day of remembrance, so I have also added a palette for Remembrance Day, which is held in Australia on 11 November, which is the day the Armistice was signed in 1918 to end the hostilities of the Great War. At 11am on 11 day of the 11 month every year, Australia has a minutes' silence to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts.

  1. I really like how you divided up your list in categories. Brilliant!

Armistice Day for us is now Veteran's Day. Memorial Day was instituted after the civil war here in the US. So we celebrate both!

    1. Thanks, Jennie - it was getting too disorganised. Don't know if it will help me cross more things off the list though!
