Recipes To Remember

For my meal planning this week, I am using an Australian cookbook called Recipes To Remember by the Australian Women's Weekly. I have always found the Women's Weekly cookbooks to be fantastic - easy to follow recipes that the family always love to eat. Perfect!

As the title suggests, this is a retro themed cookbook. It includes a great range of recipes as well as some advertisements from the 50s and 60s.

Snack chocolate - so sickly sweet!

Love that bright yellow cheese!

The fashions were the best!

This week, for family dinners, we have:

Monday
Rich Beef Mince Pie with potato wedges and green salad
Fruit Salad

Tuesday
Crisp Parmesan Chicken with Eggplant Salad
Chocolate Mousse Cake

Wednesday
Thai Spicy Beef and Noodle Stir-Fry
Coconut Panna Cotta with Caramelised Mangoes

Thursday
Herb Roast Chicken with roast veggies and steamed greens
Fruit Salad

Friday
Italian Meatballs with spaghetti
Lemon Delicious Pudding

Saturday
Paneer and Vegetable Curry with naan
Lemon Tart

Sunday
Braised Beef Brisket with lemon rice
Sticky Date Pudding

Chocolate Chip Cookies

    1. I know! I shudder to think how many hours I spend cooking! But it is all for the family, so totally worth it, even if it only takes them two minutes to devour something that takes ages to cook! The pleasures of a house full of boys.

  3. Where did you buy the book Jayne? I think I saw something similar at the post office a while back that I was planning on buying my daughter. Is this one suitable for beginner cooks?

    1. I borrowed it from the library, but yes it was at the post office. Along with another great one called Baking Day. I think it would be perfect for your daughter. It has a really good range of recipes and all quite simple and well explained. I think the Women's Weekly cookbooks cannot be beaten!

  4. Wow Jayne, I think I want to come over to your place every night. Do you have dessert every night??? You are such a blessing to your family and an inspiration to keep things new with your meals. Thanks for sharing at Good Morning Mondays. Blessings

    1. Aaaw, thanks so much! Yes, we do have dessert every night (but at least twice a week, it is just tinned fruit!) I started doing it for about three nights in a row and that was it - they ask every night, so I have just started making it! With three boys, they are always hungry anyway. If I didn't make dessert, they would be snacking from the cupboards before bed! I am just amazed how much the boys can eat.
