Not Much Finished Friday

I feel a bit silly even having a post for FO Friday, as this is it! My only FO for the week is the Easter Bunny dishcloth.

And I am not really happy with it. I'm not entirely convinced that I can even see a bunny in a basket there! Maybe the pale pink wasn't the best colour to show the stitches or maybe it needs a wash to straighten it all out. Any advice from other picture dishcloth knitters? Do you need to block the picture ones to make the picture 'pop'?

On the plus side, I have managed to enter at least half of my stash on Ravelry. And I found a cool new feature that I didn't know about - you probably all do; I'm just a bit slow at finding all these technological marvels!
In pattern searcher, you can search on patterns based on the yarn in your stash. And I found 1089 free knitting patterns that I can knit from my stash! Yes, free!! Perfect, I can stash bust and not buy any patterns! I love it!

So far I am loving these:
Felicity Mitts
I Love Stockinette Baby Bib
Alpaca Sox Legwarmers
Thao Shawl

This is only from the first two pages - and there are 23 pages in total!

This handy tutorial is where I found out about the pattern search - it tells you how to use the Ravelry stash features.

My Colin Vest is coming along nicely. I love it so much, I want one for myself!

I can't say enough good things about the Jorstad Creek BFL Sock Yarn - it is divine. I just wish I could purchase some here in Australia. It is probably a good thing that I don't have the easy access to all these yarns you enjoy in the US and UK, or my stash would fill the whole house.
Sorry for sneaking in a photo of a WIP - I couldn't resist!

And take a look at this -  the world's biggest stash. This lady has more yarn than my LYS does! Looks like heaven to me!

  1. That's awesome yarn stash, but it would drive me crazy from the disarray!! Love the vest progress. Can't help on the bunny since I don't do dishcloths.

    1. It looks like your very own yarn shop at home! But yes, I have no idea if there is a system of some sort - you'd spend all your time looking for something!

  2. Woah what a stash!!! It's lovely! I'm not sure about the dishcloth either...maybe a little block and a little stretching/pulling/general handling could help the picture show up? Also I will say that getting your stash into Ravelry is an FO all it's own :) Go Jayne!!!

    1. That's true - it is a bit of an undertaking! I am doing a little bit each day - I am up to 148 yarns stashed in there now. I am going to block that dishcloth tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. Just can't be too bothered blocking a dishcloth - I can hardly make myself do it for a shawl!

  3. Yay for getting lots of stash on Ravelry! I won't say that it's impossible to misplace yarn that's in your Rav stash, but it does make it more difficult to do. :)

I thought that my stash was approaching SABLE (stash acquisition beyond life expectancy) but that person has gone so far beyond that point that it's almost beyond belief.

    1. I'm already finding it way easier to organise and I haven't even finished stashing it all yet! I think I'm at SABLE too, but yes, whole rooms of yarn defies belief! I don't know what you could possibly do with it all. I already look at my stash and think how much money that would translate to - probably don't want to go there!

    1. Totally worth it though, now that I can see how useful it will be. Not finished yet though!

  6. I can definitely see a bunny in a basket. I often use that search to find a pattern for my leftovers, though the problems sometimes is that I have forgotten what the wool is.

  7. I have that problem with dishcloths too sometimes. I often find that colours are the problems. Sometimes it the pictures pop a little more after a wash. Good luck..

    1. That's what I was thinking - the pale pink obviously just doesn't show the picture that well.

  8. I see what you mean by the Colin vest, I'd want one too! Thanks for sharing.

    1. I'm still going though! The most I found in someone's stash on Rav was 689 yarns. I am up to about 168, so a way to go before I have that much!
